The tithe map of 1841 shows a building in this area, by the Summerford Brook/River Tame, and the accompanying schedule describes it as 'Blade Mill, Engine and Yard'. Presumably this is a factory for the manufacture and sharpening of edge tools, employing water power. Eagle Edge Tools Monmore Green Around 1930 Edward Elwell Limited and the Chillington Tool Company of Wolverhampton combined and formed a holding company; Edge Tool Industries Limited.
