William marks with a cross. He therefore could not write. The form was probably filled in by his wife on this behalf.
It is useful that mistakenly they filled in details of all of the children - including those who wre not in the house. Therefore we have details of children that might not have been listed elsewhere.
We also know that there were 12 children and that 9 were still living. I have therefore 'worked out' which ones look as if they have died.
William - age 55 was head of the household.
